Emmanuel Infant & Toddler Care

With a firm belief in lifelong learning that begins at age 0, we have established the Emmanuel Infant and Toddler Center. This service opens the door for the entire family to be served by Arise and Shine, Inc. from infancy to adulthood.  Through Emmanuel Center, we have a unique opportunity for prevention and early intervention by providing a learning center specifically designed to cultivate the young minds of the future in this region by giving parents a safe, mentally stimulating environment for their newborns and toddlers to learn and grow. Serving from 6 weeks to 23 months.

Chrissi’s Kids Learning Academy

Not just another pre-school, not just day-care, but an affordable, academy-level learning center for ages 2 to 5, that teaches advanced educational standards daily!  Pursuing excellence in academics and preparing students for a successful future, Chrissi’s Kids Learning Academy is situated in the heart of the community, with a heart for the community!

My Brother’s Keeper Afterschool Program

Begun in 2019 with seven students in Crystal Springs and has expanded to over 30 students and growing . . . to combat the loss of learning our children experienced during the COVID-19 Pandemic, due to distance learning and the lack of preparedness in technology and supervision, we provide one-on-one attention to kindergarten through 8th grade public and private school students . . . . providing full pick-up service and a healthy snack . . . ending the day with homework assistance and test preparation to close the learning gap for this well-deserving, yet underserved population.

Cross Centered Academy

A fully accredited elementary and secondary school program for parents who have long wished to provide their children a private, academy-level education, but could not afford it and/or was not available in their area. Staffed with qualified educators and cutting-edge Academic Curriculum, Cross Centered Academy is second to none in academic benefit . . . right in our own backyard.  Helping children, youth and their families prepare academically, spiritually, and mentally for the challenges of life in our times.  For grades K through 12.

Arise & Shine Mental Health Services

Arise and Shine Mental Health Services is a certified provider of Mental Health Services with the Mississippi Department of Mental Health.  We are designated to provide Consultation, Education, Early Intervention and Prevention services to children, youth, and their families. In addition, licensed therapy for general mental health is available.  From depression, anger issues, to developmental delays (confirmed by psychometric assessments administered under licensing by the Mississippi Department of Education), Arise and Shine, Inc. is prepared to address a variety of issues that contribute to overall educational success and productivity in life. According to the Kaiser Family Foundation, 2021, several pandemic-related factors negatively impacted mental health during the pandemic . . . more than 25% of high school students reported worsened emotional and cognitive health; and more than 20% of parents with children ages 5-12 reported their children experienced worsened mental or emotional health.

MATH- Mothers Against Thug- life in the Home

A Unique social service which helps mother’s identify and calculate the risks of thug-life and its subtle effects in the home.

Black Belt Mentoring Program

Survival skill training which targets teen males in the community . . . includes training for teen females as well.

Test Prep Workshops

ACT, SAT, GED, DRIVER’S EXAMINATION Test Prep Workshops designed to increase the probability of passing these tests with proven test-taking strategies and increased knowledge base.

Arise & Shine Summer Literacy Program

The Arise and Shine Summer Arts Literacy Camp is a summer program which teaches fine arts lessons infused with academic, social, occupational, and behavioral enrichment designed for prevention and early intervention in low levels of literacy and the recovery of loss of learning in a fun, exciting, learning environment. This program capitalizes on the arts, fosters patterns of success using the gifts already present in the target population. The intended outcomes of the summer program are:  ……to raise levels of literacy;  to increase academic performance in language, arts and math; to positively modify social behavior; to enhance college and career readiness; to reduce juvenile delinquency; to be a channel for family and community engagement.
